In celebration of Pride Month, we’re continuing to spotlight some fantastic LGBTQIA+ creators who inspire with their work, actions, and visuals. We caught up with TwitchTv broadcaster Lil Lexi and talked streaming, pride, and video games.
How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
My name is Lexi (Lil Lexi), and I’m a streamer on TwitchTV. I’m a very passion-driven person—I say what I believe, and support what and who I believe in. I’m also a very big video game and movie nerd.
How did you get into streaming?
I first got into streaming through helping friends with a St. Jude charity campaign they were doing. I made the graphics and overlays for the campaign. During that my friend Lanai (Ms_Vixen) thought I would be good at streaming, and told me I should stream the campaign with them to help raise money for St. Jude.
What does Pride mean to you?
For me, Pride means not being afraid or hiding who you are from the world—be proud of who you are, what you do, and who you love.
How can we continue to support the LGBTQ+ community?
Try to help people be more open-minded so that they understand that just because something isn’t what they’re into or what they grew up around, that doesn’t make it wrong. Also, emotional support for those around you who may be struggling is always great.
What video game character do you most identify with?
Ash from Rainbow Six Siege, I have red hair and sometimes wear a hat when I’m streaming, so I’m constantly told I look like her.
