The Mineblr Renaissance
The first iteration of Minecraft was released in May 2009, introducing the world to an incredible sandbox. By the time the full game was released in November 2011, it had more than 16 million registered users. Since then, the game has experienced waves of popularity, with different streamers sharing their playthroughs, cosplayers bringing the blocky world to life, and modders developing shaders and other tools to enhance the experience. Minecraft has become a cornerstone of internet culture across the web, and this year, on the tenth anniversary of the game, the Mineblr community on Tumblr has had a huge resurgence, debuting on the list at No. 4.
We’re celebrating this great achievement with a list of the best posts from the #Mineblr tag. It has everything; from bees to mossy logs, a recreation of Philadelphia to forbidden snacks, these posts will leave you booting up your game in no time at all.
